GIANLUCA PATTI

Gianluca Patti was born in 1977 in Monza, lives and works between Monza and Milan. His research is centered on the study of color and matter as tools for narrating personal experience and the temporal dimension.
The self-taught study of art history has played an essential role in the evolution of his artistic research: at the beginning of his career he developed a passion for the pictorial work of great artists such as Pollock, Vedova and Basquiat, deepening their chromatic balance and seeking its own unique approach to colour, as part of a constantly evolving personal research. Then he is attracted
by the artistic currents of Arte Povera and the Readymade approach, fascinated by decontextualization and the new life attributed to commonly used objects. Thus he began to study the materials most evocative of his own experience, represented, given his training and the family context linked to the construction sector, by building materials, however using them as construction elements of his own artistic process. The result is stratified works in which cementitious products, resins, meshes and pigments become a metaphor for sedimented memories and traces of the past.
Gianluca Patti's work has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions, and has become part of important contemporary art collections.
The artist's transversal approach also led him to collaborate in the creation of sets in the advertising and interior design sectors and to be selected for art and business projects.
